Concept

Our flora is what makes this planet of ours unique and keeps it alive. It fosters biodiversity, sustains our wildlife and is connected to the five elements (Earth, Fire, Water, Air and Aether).

The term Flora comes from the name of the Roman goddess of flowers, who represented the flowering season, and the fertility of the land. Flora also symbolizes love, beauty, and abundance.

Most people associate Yoga with the Lotus Flower, a central symbol in Yoga for its association with spiritual awakening through growth out of the dark towards the light by elevating consciousness and separating it from the material world. To me, plants are so much more than that. They are the lungs of the earth and give life to all sentient beings. They entice our senses with their bloom and their intoxicating scent. They regulate our nervous system on a subconscious level. And they represent a fundamental law of nature: in order to rise, you must first root down, something that requires more than just the elements working in your favour. It requires humility, vulnurability,  patience, dedication and determination. To me, those principles define every expectation I have of myself on a daily basis, every class I take, every flow I put together and every class I teach.
